Early Years Educator – Apprenticeship / Nursery Nurse Apprenticeship

Are you passionate about providing children with outstanding care and education? Do you want to earn a professional qualification whilst also earning £7.38 per hour, and being paid for your study time?

Join our fantastic team as a Trainee Early Years Educator – Apprenticeship / Nursery Nurse Apprenticeship.Within 1 – 1.5 year, you could be Level 2/3 qualified, with your career on the fast track to success. No childcare experience necessary, however commitment to children and their care and education is a MUST. Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study.

As our Nursery apprentice you’ll:
• work alongside experienced staff
• gain job-specific skills
• earn a wage and get holiday pay
• get time for study related to your role (usually one day a week)

Candidates must have GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above. If you don't have GCSEs in English and Maths, though, you'll usually be required to take a basic numeracy and literacy test.

Nursery Nurse/Early Years Educators

• First Aid training is desirable.


Purpose of role

• To be responsible for the planning and delivery of an inclusive and integrated Montessori and EYFS curriculum suitable to meet the children’s individual needs.
• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional and social care and education for the children.
• To implement the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure all the children’s individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.
• To observe and assess children’s development and keep accurate record of their achievements.


Key Requirements

• Detailed knowledge of the Montessori approach is essential.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is essential.
• Knowledge of Ofsted guidelines and Welfare requirements is essential.
• A detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential.
• Considerable relevant experience of the age range 2.5 - 5 years is desirable.
• Knowledge of the key person systems and record keeping is desirable.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and their parents.
• Ability to communicate and work in partnership with families and carers.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration qualities.
• Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues.


Salary: £9.50 to £10.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours of Work: Term Time or Part Time (25 – 30 hours per week) - Negotiable
